IFP2020 Conference Postponement Announcement

Thursday, March 19, 2020

Thank-you for your interest in attending the IFP2020 Conference: Language Autonomy and Global Impact.  During these challenging times, the University of Toronto has been following the guidance of public health officials and are closely monitoring the COVID 19 impact on our community.  We recognize the current constraint of travel restrictions and are cognisant of the concerns with social gatherings.  After careful consideration of developments these past few weeks and as part of the social distancing measures, it is with regret the conference committee has decided to postpone the conference until 2021.

We would like to thank all of you for your support and understanding during so much uncertainty.  Our sympathies go out to those who are affected by COVID 19 and wishing you, your families, and all colleagues good health.  Further information will be sent directly to those who have registered as a delegate and/or sponsored our conference.

We look forward to seeing you in 2021.

The International Foundation Program (IFP) at the University of Toronto is proud to present its inaugural English for Academic Purposes (EAP) conference.

The IFP was established in 2009 as a unique pathway to the University of Toronto. The IFP combines conditional acceptance to the University of Toronto with intensive English language instruction and for-credit courses. The IFP is available to academically qualified international students whose English fluency scores do not meet the University of Toronto’s direct entrance requirements.

The IFP Conference brings together EAP professionals from across the globe to network and broaden EAP-related perspectives, such as student assessment, administrative policy, current research, and emerging trends; our approach covers different perspectives of administration, instruction, and student work.
