A Place at U of T. The IFP Is Where You Earn It.

Enter the University of Toronto Mississauga conditionally as an undergraduate from day one—earning degree credits while building academic fluency.

The International Foundation Program (IFP) is a unique offering that combines conditional acceptance to the University of Toronto with intensive English language and academic skills development instruction, along with for-credit courses. The IFP is available to academically qualified international students whose English fluency scores do not meet the University of Toronto’s direct entrance requirements.

Earn a degree from one of the world’s top-ranked universities

Study at Canada’s leading university, ranked 24th* globally. At UTM, you access world-class research, renowned faculty, and global prestige within an open, close-knit campus community of 17,000+ students.

Conditional U of T Admission From Day One

You are an enrolled University of Toronto undergraduate from your very first week, not an external language school student. Meet the same academic standards as direct-entry students while fulfilling your English proficiency condition on campus.

Earn degree credits that count toward your University of Toronto graduation

You don’t start Year 1 from zero. The IFP includes an official, for-credit university course alongside language development, keeping you on track to graduate within the standard four-year timeline.

180 Programs Across 90 Areas of Study

Gain direct pathway entry into UTM’s distinct academic streams—from Arts, Sciences, and Business to specialized programs like Communication, Culture, Information & Technology (CCIT), Forensic Science, and Environmental Science.

Small Class Sizes With Focused Academic Support

Benefit from intensive instruction with average cohorts of 8 to 15 students. Build the critical reading, analytical writing, and research skills that university seminar courses actually demand.

A Proven Record of Completion

Nine in ten students (90%) successfully complete the IFP and transition directly into their degree studies on schedule. The standard is rigorous, transparent, and proven to set international students up for long-term academic success.

The International Foundation Program is coming to University of Toronto Mississauga on September 2027.
