Project Name: Food Insecurity and Malnutrition in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
Team Members: Carina, anonymous student, anonymous student, anonymous student
This group explored two major issues currently prevalent in the Democratic Republic of the Congo – food insecurity and malnutrition. In researching dietary habits, as well as the poultry and food crises, the group identified weather, pests and the effects of the coronavirus pandemic as the three root causes. These students examined the contributing factors to food insecurity in the Congolese population from a holistic point of view. They also explored the various solutions currently implemented, such as involving UN peacekeepers and promoting agricultural development.
