Today, it is with mixed feelings we part ways with one of our team members. Dmitry will be leaving the International Programs team to pursue other ventures. We’d like to take this time to wish Dmitry good luck and reflect on the impact he has had on our programs and our team.

Dmitry has been connected to the International Programs team in some capacity for the past 12 years. He first joined the University of Toronto community as one of the first International Foundation Program (IFP) students – he was part of the first IFP cohort of only 61 students in 2009. Throughout his undergraduate studies, he joined the admin team as part-time staff and upon graduating, joined as a full-time staff member in 2015. He stepped into his role of Assistant Director, Interim, in February 2021.

I’ll miss his kindness, empathy, and I have no doubt that he will go on to do great things. He has certainly left a positive mark on me – thank you for everything, Dmitry!”

“I started working at the International Programs as full-time staff around the same time as Dmitry. So in a way, we grew together in our careers. Throughout these years, we have worked closely together, and it definitely won’t be the same without him around. He has continued to inspire and motivate me, and although I know I’ll be seeing him around, he will be missed in the office.”

During his time here, Dmitry has inspired others with his hardworking, innovative, and proactive work ethic, and continued to push others to think outside the box. He has extensively expanded recruitment efforts in Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia, reimagined the programs’ social media presence, and developed the summer programs registration process, including the new online application process, to name just a few accomplishments.

He has always been the calm team member that everyone relied on for logic, reassurance, and well-organized solutions to any problems that came up. I will dearly miss Dima and the way he manages to ground all of us and hope that he continues to impact others the way he has our office.”
