We may not be on campus, but you can still connect with the UofT community virtually!
These opportunities are available to enhance your experience throughout the program and beyond. Take a few minutes to learn about them!
Career Learning Network (CLNx)
The CLNx is a lot more than job postings. On this website you can find resume workshops, career advice, and even social opportunities! Interested in getting to know current future professions in a field that you’re interested in? They do that. Want some help tailoring your application for a summer job or internship? They do that too!
Centre for International Experience (CIE)
Virtual Film Series, Neighbourhood Tours, Language Exchanges, the CIE has way more than just helpful immigration advisors. As an international student at U of T you can find plenty of exciting social opportunities with CIE’s virtual programming.
New College Office of Residence & Student Life (ORSL)
It is no surprise that the Office of Residence and Student Life at New College has some wonderful virtual opportunities for students to connect. ORSL is the primary source of student life programming around the college, from coffee chats to board game nights, make sure to check out their social media pages for exciting upcoming opportunities.
New College Student Council (NCSC)
The New College Student Council works hard every year to cater their events and offerings to the new group of students that come every year. Whether it be board game nights, speaker series, or any other virtual event, NCSC will give you the chance to connect with your fellow New College students.
IFP Community
There are many ways to connect to students outside of the program, and there are also ways to meet your classmates. The IFP Committee will be planning social opportunities for students throughout the academic year. You will be able to learn more about the staff and students in the IFP via our Quercus discussion boards.
IFP Virtual Roommate Program
Residence life, for many students, is a big part of their first year at the university. While this year, it is quite different, we would like to bring part of that experience with you with the Virtual Roommate Program. This program program will pair you with an IFP Student as a support system, study buddy and hopefully a friend that will last a lot longer than the program! If you’re interested, sign up on the Student Life Quercus page.
Health & Wellness Centre
Health and Wellness offers much more than meetings with health professionals. From workshops about healthy habits, sleep, and nutrition, to group therapy, and presentations about health and wellness research, this office offers wonderful programming throughout the year. If you find yourself feeling unwell, or wanting to better your wellbeing in general, this is a wonderful resource to look into.
U Life Clubs
U of T has almost one thousand clubs for you to explore, ranging from academic course unions to sports and interest groups. The vast array of groups at the university ensures that there is something for everyone. Even if you can’t find what you’re looking for, maybe that means it is time for the creation of a new club! Take a look, and enjoy all that U Life has to offer!
As you can see, there are many ways to get connected with the U of T community, and this isn’t even all of them! It can be daunting to sort through all of the options, so we are more than happy to help make it easier. Email us at foundation.program@utoronto.ca and we would be more than happy to help you narrow down the list of opportunities for you to explore during the IFP.
